External Door Frames

Information

All external door frames are designed for long-lasting performance and easy installation.

Features and benefits include:

  • Assembled oak door frames are available to complement oak Stormsure window ranges and oak doors, these are made to order. Flatpack oakdoor frames are available from stock.
  • Manufactured from quality redwood with hardwood cills as standard where applicable
  • Rebated to suit 44mm doors
  • 140mm standard cills, or 170mm nominal cill to special order (to comply with the ‘robust detail’ of Building Regulations Approved Document ‘L’)
  • Fitted heavy duty PVC waterbar
  • Supplied with a harmonising base coat stain ready for on-site finishing
  • Fully finished door frames availableto special order
  • Factory-glazed front entrance frames available to special order including PATT 70, PATT SC, Vertical Bar.
  • Factory-glazed fixed top lights available on storey height frames available to special order.
  • 140mm cill only for oak door frame

Optional finishes

For extra durability we strongly recommend that you purchase primed door frames for external use. Primed frames are guaranteed for 3 months, base coat stained frames are guaranteed for 1 month before site decoration is required. Please state “primed” or “stained” when ordering.

Mobility

We can supply entrance frames fitted with mobility sills. Entrance frames without a sill to the door opening are available to special order.

With these frames, we supply a low-level threshold. This threshold pack is delivered loose for on-site fixing.

Note: This will reduce the overall height of the frame. A head packer can be fitted if required.

Door Frame and Threshold

Building Regulations Part ‘M’ Mobility Amendment requires disabled access into buildings to be over a threshold no higher than 15mm.

Forestry Stewardship Council

All our softwood door frames are certified by the Forestry Stewardship Council Chain of Custody.
